Privacy Policy

columbiaicefieldtours.com is an independent travel guide to the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca Glacier. We do not run tours, we do not take bookings, and we do not process payments. This policy explains the limited data that is collected when you visit this site.

1. What we collect

We do not ask you for personal information. There is no account, no newsletter sign-up and no contact form on this site. We collect nothing that identifies you by name.

Like every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is served: your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, your browser and operating system, and the referring page. These logs are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse, and they are retained for a limited period by the host.

2. Third-party booking widgets and links

Booking availability on this site is displayed through embedded GetYourGuide widgets, and our booking links point to GetYourGuide. When a widget loads or you follow one of those links, GetYourGuide may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device in order to display availability, record that the visit came from this site, and attribute any resulting booking to us.

That processing is carried out by GetYourGuide as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy, which you can read at getyourguide.com/privacy_policy. We do not receive your name, email address, payment details or any other personal booking data from GetYourGuide — only aggregate, anonymised commission reporting.

We also load web fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google’s servers carrying your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.

3. Analytics

We run the GetYourGuide partner analytics script, which measures how our booking links and widgets perform. It is used for affiliate attribution rather than to build a profile of you. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or cross-site retargeting tags on this site.

4. Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Any cookies you receive come from the third parties named above when their widgets or links load. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site’s content will work normally, though embedded availability widgets may not display.

5. Your rights

If you are in the UK, the EEA or another jurisdiction with equivalent legislation, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data held about you. Because we hold no identifiable data about visitors, requests of this kind are usually best directed to the third party that actually processed the data — ordinarily GetYourGuide.

6. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
